TAC Support for Your Recovery

Allied health support to help you move forward after an accident

TAC

Individualised Care for TAC Clients

Personalised allied health support for people recovering from transport accident-related injuries.

At reHealth, our multidisciplinary allied health team provides individualised care for TAC clients across our Doreen and Balwyn clinics. We work with you to understand your injury, current abilities and recovery goals, then develop an appropriate approach to your treatment and rehabilitation.

Understanding Your Recovery

A transport accident can result in changes to movement, strength, mobility and physical function. These changes may affect everyday activities, work, exercise and other aspects of your routine.

Our practitioners begin by understanding how your injury is affecting you and what you would like to work towards. Your treatment is tailored to your clinical presentation and may involve hands-on treatment, exercise, rehabilitation, education or movement-based strategies, depending on the service you are receiving.

Where appropriate, your treatment can be reviewed as your needs change, with adjustments made based on your clinical presentation and goals.

Returning to Everyday Activities

A transport accident injury can affect more than just pain or movement. It may also influence your ability to work, exercise, drive, complete household tasks or take part in activities that are important to you..

As part of your rehabilitation, your practitioner can consider these day-to-day demands when developing your treatment approach. This may involve gradually building strength, mobility, confidence and physical capacity in ways that are relevant to your usual activities.

Your treatment plan can be reviewed over time to reflect your progress, current function and the activities you are working towards, while remaining appropriate to your clinical needs and TAC funding requirements.

Please Note: TAC funding is subject to your individual claim, accepted injuries and the requirements that apply to your treatment. TAC-funded treatment must relate to transport accident injuries and meet the relevant requirements for the service.

Approval requirements can vary depending on the type of treatment and when treatment is being provided. Some allied health services may be provided without prior approval during the first 90 days following an accident, while further treatment may require TAC approval and an Allied Health Treatment and Recovery Plan.

Our Approach

Clear, practical and individualised care from your first appointment onwards.

Understanding Your Injury

Your first appointment begins with a conversation about your accident, injury, symptoms, current abilities and treatment goals.

We’ll discuss how your injury may be affecting your movement and everyday activities, as well as any relevant health information and treatment you have already received.

Assessment and Treatment Planning

Your practitioner will complete an assessment relevant to the service you are accessing. This may include looking at movement, strength, mobility, balance and physical function.

Your practitioner will then discuss their findings and recommendations with you and develop an appropriate treatment approach based on your individual circumstances.

Treatment and Rehabilitation

Depending on your needs and the service you are receiving, treatment may include hands-on therapy, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, mobility work, education or movement retraining.

Your practitioner will review your treatment as appropriate and make adjustments based on your clinical needs.

Our TAC Allied Health Team

Our multidisciplinary team provides a range of allied health services to support people with transport accident-related injuries.

Our practitioners work across physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic care, exercise physiology and other areas of allied health.

Where appropriate and with your consent, our practitioners can also communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in your care. This can help support communication between members of your healthcare team where it is relevant to your treatment.
