Your mind and well-being FAQs answered

Anxiety can show up in many different ways, and we work with a range of anxiety disorders. These include generalised anxiety, social anxiety, social phobia, panic disorder, and separation anxiety.

If what you’re experiencing doesn’t fit neatly into a category, that’s okay too. Reach out, and we’ll discuss further details and potential options.

Grief can be one of the most difficult experiences a person faces. Whether your loss is recent or something you’ve been carrying for some time, we want to hear what you have to say and offer honest support.
We understand that some people come to us with more severe or complex presentations, such as bipolar disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder. While our practice is not a crisis service, we aim to be honest with you about what level of care may best suit your needs.
You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, flat, anxious or not yourself for a period of time, it may be worth talking to someone.
Don’t let that stop you from reaching out for support. We’re here to listen, whether that’s through psychological services or guidance on next steps.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis or a clear understanding of what’s going on to reach out. We will take the time to listen and work with you on what you’re experiencing.
That depends on what you’re working through and how you respond to support. Some people find a few sessions helpful, others may benefit from ongoing support.
Our psychologist works out of our Balwyn clinic, so make sure to select Balwyn when booking. You can book online or by phone, with appointments available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm.
Watching a loved one go through a difficult time can be hard. If you’re unsure how to help, sometimes gently letting them know support is available may make all the difference and help them take that first step.
In most cases, no. You’re welcome to book directly with us. However, if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on a number of sessions.
