Frequently Asked Questions
What are the potential benefits of podiatry?
What are orthotics?
Orthotics are supportive inserts placed inside shoes. They’re designed to help improve foot alignment, reduce pressure and support how your feet and lower limbs move.
We may recommend our custom-made orthotics if you’re experiencing foot pain, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, posture-related discomfort or movement concerns related to your feet and legs.
Can podiatry help with diabetes?
In many cases, yes. Diabetes may affect circulation, sensation and wound healing in the feet in particular, which is why regular foot assessments are important.
Our podiatrists provide diabetic foot assessments, skin and nail care, circulation and sensation checks and ongoing monitoring that may help identify potential concerns early, support foot health and reduce complications.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
What is PACT fungal nail therapy?
Photodynamic antimicrobial therapy (PACT) is a light-based treatment designed to support the management of fungal nail concerns in a non-invasive way. It uses a light-sensitive gel and a specific light wavelength to penetrate the nail plate and kill fungal cells, bacteria and viruses on the nail and nail bed.
Can a podiatrist prescribe medication or administer cortisone injections?
